Why this word is so popular in today's world?Was it also this popular before?

I have been thinking about this questions since the day I heard it.Is it because we have more opportinues to enjoy ourselves now than the before???
I don't know why people use this word so much but I'm sure that it's right.We have to enjoy ourselves.Especially the people in our ages,but we also have to think of spending our time more in useful things than spending on redundant like chatting,watching TV or others,instead of doing them we can read books???

If they use this term, they will show that they are more educated and different. Why we use this term is not English enough for it
First of all cerpe demiem :) Maybe we do nor realize bur being responsinle is importan in our age,too.
I've been hearing this term for years, so I don't think it's a fashion. It's true that we have responsibilities but carpe diem doesn't mean not caring about anything. We can behave according to our responsibilities and live this carpe diem at the same time.. all we need is to keep them in balance.
I think it tries to make us aware of the things that we can't see or realise in the rush of this life.So why don't we carpe diem?But if you can't balance carpe diem you may lose..............
I don't know what you'll think about my thoughts, but I think this 'carpe diem' thing is not that much innocent. Maybe I can explain it in this way: I just looked it up from that Wikipedia thing, and I'm giving you a quotation from there:
Evoking some of the same meaning is the expression, "fuck, party, and be horney, for tomorrow we will NOT die," which derives from Biblical verses (such as Isaiah, although it does not carry the same connotations in context. 22:13), and which occurs many times in modern English-language popular culture.
It says so for the explanation, but if you ask how it changes in our point of view, we just ignore this side of that 'carpe diem' effect, and our explanations for it becomes: 'Not worrying about tomorrow and only considering the moment you live'. I mean that we use this term except its meaning, but for us it's good to stay in our own explanations. Also, if you check you'll find another Latin term 'memento mori' which has some near meaning with 'carpe diem'. 'momento mori' can be translated as "Remember you will die," and again, if we think what it means for us 'we will die', our answers will be completely different than the real 'momento mori' maybe. Because, if you search a little that 'momento mori', you'll find that it's a reflection of the philosophy of realism.
I think "carpe diem" has many different meanings from those sakir found. well firtsly it says live your life and make much of time. but that doesnt mean only living the moment and not thinking about the tomorrow. Live your life happily and not missing the points or landmarks in your life....
